Lake Placid Center for the Arts Presents the 3rd Annual Open Sky Music Festival 2023

The Reynolds Group North Country Stage on the lawn at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

Lake Placid Center for the Arts turns its backyard into an open-air music festival all day on Saturday, August 23. The 3rd Annual Open Sky Music Festival is a multidisciplinary festival for music lovers of every age. Featuring incredible headliners on the mainstage and local favorites on The Reynolds Group North Country Stage.

The whole family is welcome to experience an outdoor day of fun, food and music featuring everything from bluegrass to rock, pop and blues. All on the lawn behind the Lake Placid Center for the Arts Theatre building.

Festival passes are on sale now.

This year, organizers are packing all festival shows into one spectacular Saturday, so you can see anything and everything you want with the purchase of your festival pass. (With nine acts playing throughout the day, that’s less than $10 per set!)

All performers will run one after another throughout the day. While exact start times, aren’t guaranteed, bands will alternate starting at noon: a visiting band on the main stage (approx. 1 hour 15 min), followed by a local band on The Reynolds Group North Country Stage (approx. 45 min), and so on.

A stellar line-up of amazing musicians.

High on the Hog - From the heart of the Adirondacks, High on the Hog was born of southern Appalachian fiddle tunes, classic country-western songs and ballads, and homemade Adirondack folk songs.

The Split Rock Ramblers - The Split Rock Ramblers are a product of a lively jam session that has nourished pickers of the greater Saranac Lake area for over 14 years. The Ramblers’ repertoire wanders through country, pop, rock and soul alongside old-time favorites, always with a passion for what feels right.

The Gibson Brothers

Gibson Brothers - The Gibson Brothers charm audiences with their brother-banter, ringing harmonies and a stunning sampling of other favorite American musical styles, including Gospel, Classic Country, Folk, and singer-songwriter traditions.

Marti Sexton - Martin Sexton is a widely recognized American singer-songwriter and music producer who grew up in New York. He tours with what Rolling Stone calls his “soul-marinated voice,” acoustic guitar, and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs.

The Legendary Ingramettes

The Legendary Ingramettes - Richmond’s “First Family of Gospel” has been uplifting audiences for over six decades while becoming beloved cultural icons in the community. Together, the Ingramettes bring the spirit of a Sunday morning service to the stage.

Blessid Dirt - Heavy Folk, Americana, and Some Wicked Good Guitar Pickin’. Singer-songwriters Tereson Dupuy and Eric Pasternak make up this beautiful, Adirondack-grown acoustic duo whose original music is ripe with life experiences most can relate to.

Dailey & Vincent - Performing the very best of American Music (traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Gospel) on stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry stars and multi-award winners Dailey & Vincent are backed by one of the best bands on tour today.

Crackin’ Foxy - Crackin’ Foxy has been kicking around the North Country for over a decade. Their musical direction still focuses on vintage jazz from the 1920s–1940s, but this year they’re excited to present a new line-up that includes a full brass section.

Terrance Simien and The Zydeco Experience - Grammy-winner Terrance Simien takes his audiences on a multicultural tour of the world inspired by his travels. He creates a hypnotic blend of New Orleans funk-reggae-flavored-world-blues-American zydeco roots music that beckons you to your feet and into the groove.
