Canoe the Raquette with The Wild Center

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Raquette River with an expert NYS-licensed guide and Wild Center naturalist. Get ready for a journey filled with knowledge, relaxation, and a touch of adventure.

The Wild Center will ensure you have all the safety know-how and paddling skills. Then, brace yourself for an awe-inspiring trip around the Oxbow - a mesmerizing natural marvel in rivers worldwide.

Prepare to be amazed as you encounter native wildlife and delve into the fascinating natural history of the Adirondacks. No matter your paddling expertise, this trip is tailored to accommodate all skill levels.

To embark on this unforgettable experience, a short ½ mile walk across rolling terrain awaits, leading you to the serene banks of the Raquette River. Children ages 4 through 15 must have at least one parent or guardian present for every three children.

Museum admission is not included and must be purchased with the canoe trip. Register soon, as space is limited. 

Max Participants: 5 boats (each boat can accommodate 2-3 adults or 1-2 adults with 1-2 children)

Cost per Boat: $30/boat for members, $45/boat for non-members.

Can’t make this trip? Guided canoe trips are offered on Saturdays in June and daily in July/August. Check the Wild Center website for a date that’s best for you.
